IPCF sponsors community event “The Winning Playbook for Men’s Health.”
This past June, the Nu Eta Eta Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority, Inc. (a professional nursing organization serving the Central Florida community), partnered with the City of Orlando and the Rosemont Neighborhood Center to host a community men’s health program titled “The Winning Playbook for Men’s Health.”
The event took place June 6, 2026, from 10:00 AM–2:00 PM at the Rosemont Neighborhood Center in Orlando. Prostate cancer continues to affect so many men, and far too many still delay or avoid screening. Part of the purpose of this event was to educate men on prostate cancer and the importance of PSA testing for all men, particularly African American men due to their increased risk of prostate cancer.
Dr. Saleh Bubishate shared his time and expertise with all in attendance, answering questions and addressing concerns regarding his extensive presentation on the importance of PSA screening. Prostate cancer survivor Dan Pelletier, as well as a few other survivors, also shared their impactful experiences with prostate cancer treatment and recovery.
Both Dr. Bubishate and the survivors encouraged the men in the audience to speak with their physician or healthcare provider about prostate cancer screening.
IPCF is grateful that organizations like the Nu Eta Eta Chapter of Chi Eta Phi Sorority are taking the initiative to create events like this to spread awareness and education.
We are grateful to the men willing to share their stories and guide others through the sometimes confusing gauntlet of navigating the experience of prostate cancer diagnosis, screening, and treatment.
